Steve Jarrard
Business Owner
I started in October of 1982 when I moved to Chicago for college at Devry Institute doing odd jobs and painting for reduced rent. My education and training started early as my dad was ex military and being the eldest son, I got "volunteered" to help fix and build stuff. As well as my watching "This Old House" and "New Yankee Workshop" on PBS. I also took shop classes in summer school as I was a "band kid".
While I was in Chicago I worked for a mail order home study course company and quickly rose up the ladder there until I was running the warehouse. I over saw production, labor, shipping, receiving, ordering, and building maintenance. Being part of management, I had to familiarize myself with the courses and that's where I learned the finer points of tax preparation. I've kept myself updated each year since.
I am ordained through The United Brotherhood Movement, a multi-denominational organization. At first, I wanted to do pastoral counseling for couples, but the demand just wasn't there. That's when I found weddings were very fun to do. I have also done several funeral services, and was glad to help in that capacity, in the grieving process. My wife, Lonna, helps out in the office, by scheduling and other paperwork.
